    INFORMATION ABOUT THE JURY:

She started her career by entering the prestigious Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1959. She graduated in diplomacy with first-class honours. She began her career at the White House, where she was working for 18 years as an Assistant to five U.S. Presidents and was managing the PR office. During this time she founded and managed the Office of the Presidential Messages. Even in America she kept her Czech nature, though she could return to her homeland not sooner than after forty long years.  In Prague she founded the Coolidge Consulting Services, which offer guidance in the areas of protocol, etiquette, HR, PR, gastronomy and tourism, and promotes social and business contacts between the Czech Republic and the U.S. And last but not least, Mrs. Coolidge conducts courses of  art, management of social manners and diplomatic and business protocol. Personal decision for being part of the jury and the benefactress:

"Every attention paid to the success of a Czech woman in business is a valuable contribution for the future and power of the Czech society.

I haven´t been hiding my full admiration and respect for the Czech women since the return to my homeland. For all that she is able to perfectly manage, though she is often lacking the recognition and compliments she deserves. That´s why I´d like to congratulate the Helas Agency and its long-sighted founder, Helena Kohoutová and Mrs. Jana Švenková, for their effort to high-light the commonly beneficial image of the Czech Woman by pointing at the outstanding examples of female know-how in all fields across our society. I hope that this will remove fear and doubt and empower courage and sedulity among those, who haven´t taken their chance yet.
It is my great honour and pleasure to serve as the benefactress of this competition, which is precious and beneficial for the society.“

    • Ing. Dana Jagošová, the directress of the commercial center section of Česká spořitelna
Ing. Dana Jagošová – the directress of the commercial center section of Česká spořitelna. She graduated at the Economic University in Prague. She started her professional career in the foreign trade business. She has been working in banking since 1992. First in the Czech branch of the Bayerische Vereinsbank AG, where she passed a two-year specialised schooling in Germany in the field of work with the firm´s clients.  Consequently she worked as a risk manager and since 1999 in various managing positions always in the business divisions of the bank. Since 2007 she has been working in the above mentioned position in ČSAS.

The personal decision for accepting the participation in the jury and on the project:

      (taken from an interview)

In the last and this year´s competition The Czech Businesswomen Award – OCP is awarded the Prize of Česká spořitelna – An outstanding businesswoman. What should such an outstanding businesswoman be like?

„An oustanding businesswoman, in a sphere dominated by men, should primaly be human. Because trying to win male recognition might cause women to lose a part of their femininity. And „femininity“ stands for me as a symbol of humanity – understanding, comprehension of not only myself, but also of the society around me and its needs.“

How many businesswomen or famale firm owners have you personally met during your banking career?

„It´s horrible, but none. Except for co-owners of family firms. But honestly, even among men you don´t usually come accross that many independent owners founding and developing their firm so that it gets into the segment of companies taken care of by the division where I work (sales above tens and hundreds of milions). More over, after let´s say 15 years of enterprising, once they finally reach this size, many of the enterprisers sell their firms. I assume that the enterprising of women will be in larger degree rather small-sized and long-termed, and therefore it is my private honour and great opportunity to familiarize myself with their firms and destinies and get to know the best ones personally through the engagement in The Czech Businesswomen Award  competition.“

What is the competition inspiring in for Česká spořitelna?

„In realizing the power and the role of women in economics and society. It partly works with our clients. We could inspire, but rather inwards the company. We support women mostly in their traditional mother´s role through the help of various  educating programs, work at home, firm nursery schools etc., but they are still not getting to the leading positions.  At the same time, it is commonly accepted on the working market, that teams are more efficient than individuals, concretely the mixed teams. So the task is to carry that out on all levels of conduct. However, I think the area where we as women are behind compared with men, is the question of self-confidence among female employees as well as businesswomen.  And we got to work on that. A great method is to demonstrate to others the examples of women who have managed it.“

What do you value the most on businesswomen?

„Diligence, tenacity, sedulity and mostly not drawing attention to themselves. Simply, they care more about what they do, rather than how others see them and this by itself is a great place for effectivity.“

      Personal, life and firm motto:

      „Actions speak louder than words!

It is valid for any area of human action. I believe it expresses exactly what all the enterprisers must follow, whether consciously or unconsciously. And the women-enterprisers should follow it even more intensively, because otherwise they, as women, won´t win any recognition in business-making  and reach the noteworthy results.“

The personal decision for accepting the participation in the jury and on the project:

„I´m inspired by new ideas and thoughts. Especially the ones which carry the meassage of recognition and help. When I see a good piece of work, I imagine the quantity of effort, discipline, stumbling, but also the  amount of ethusiasm, visions, dreams and ideas. I know to accomplishment leads a long hard road and not everyone is made to ride it. It takes a lot of sacrifice. It is my great pleasure to watch the success of women who have reached the objective for which they were chosen into this competition. And it is my honour to be able to meet and get to know them personally. Those kinds of opportunities are enriching and I wish for them to keep on increasing in the future.“
