Brian Lang

Brian Lang has been holding the position of the CEO of MasterCard Europe for the Czech Republic and Slovakia since October of 2009. He came to the Czech and Slovak market from the Brussels headquarters of MasterCard Europe, where he had led the department of commercial products for Europe. Previously, however, he had gained considerable experience in the payment industry and banks. Before he joined the MasterCard company in 2006 and moved from Canada to Belgium, he had held many leadership positions. For example, he created and managed a process engineering team and a Six Sigma team at CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) and in the Air Canada airlines. Furthermore, he built and led a business development team in the Aeroplan company, which is the largest Canadian company specializing in credit programs and providing consulting services in marketing for the Canadian branch of the GEM Group. Among Brian Lang´s hobbies belong endurance running, hockey, golf and travelling. Brian Lang has 4 children of up to 7 years of age.
 
Personal decision to accept the participation in the jury:
 
"It´s great pleasure to join the jury in the awarding of the best Czech female entrepreneurs. MasterCard believes in supporting business development and financial literacy, that´s why together with Junior Achievement (a group focused on supporting young entrepreneurs) we are very pleased to be able to support the Czech women who are putting considerable energy and effort to their business and should be rewarded and supported for their work done. Therefore it´s this award that should motivate them to proceed in their business careers above. By participating in the jury I would especially like to express my great admiration and gratitude for all their initiative in this area."
